DIY Easter Teacup Table Setting – Sweet, Sentimental & Simple

Hey y’all! Welcome back to another cozy DIY moment from my table to yours. Today, I’m sharing a super easy, sweet-as-tea Easter table setting idea that adds charm, personality, and a whole lot of heart to your gathering.
This project is especially close to my heart because I used a vintage teacup from my parents’ wedding china – passed down from my mama. I love being able to incorporate meaningful heirlooms into my decor. It’s more than just a cute Easter DIY – it’s a way to hold memories close while celebrating the season.
Whether you’re setting the table for Easter brunch, hosting a springtime tea party, or just want a pretty centerpiece, this idea is affordable, fast, and fabulously festive.
What You’ll Need
- 1 teacup + saucer (mismatched is totally okay – adds character!)
- Linen napkin
- Wooden bunny cutout
- Colored clothespin
- Twine, ribbon, or yarn
- Faux flowers (variety of colors)
- Wire cutters or strong scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Tape or pipe cleaner (optional)
You can find all the items I used in my Amazon storefront.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Create Your Bunny Clip
- Take a small wooden bunny cutout and hot glue it to a colored clothespin.
- This will serve as a sweet little embellishment or even a place card holder for your table setting.
Step 2: Roll the Napkin (a.k.a. Bunny Ears!)
- Grab your linen napkin and tightly roll it just like you’re making the base for a napkin bunny or boo-boo bunny.
- It doesn’t have to be perfect – that homemade charm makes it even better!
Step 3: Thread Napkin Through the Teacup
- Fold the napkin in half and thread it through the teacup handle so both ends peek out like bunny ears.
- Adjust as needed to make both sides even.
Step 4: Tie the Ears with Twine or Ribbon
- Using twine, yarn, or a small ribbon, tie the rolled napkin just above the handle to secure your “bunny ears.”
- Finish it off with a sweet little bow!
Step 5: Add Flowers for a Pop of Spring
- Cut small bunches of faux flowers and tape or clip them together.
- Tuck them into the cup just behind the napkin bunny ears so they stand up and add a touch of whimsy.
Step 6: Clip on Your Bunny Tag
- Use the bunny clothespin as a name tag holder or just as decoration.
- Clip it to the napkin or to the cup’s rim for an extra dose of adorable.
Bonus Ideas
- Fill the teacup with jelly beans, potpourri, or a little sachet for guests to take home.
- Use a mismatched collection of cups from the thrift store for a unique table look.
- If your cups aren’t sentimental like mine, you could even let guests take them home as favors!
Why I Love This DIY
Not only is this Easter place setting easy and affordable, but it brings a bit of my mama’s memory to the table – literally. It’s a beautiful blend of family, creativity, and celebration. And that’s what Southern hospitality is all about, y’all.
