Allie’s Corner: Losing Your Pet

Hey Folks,
Allie here. I haven’t been writing much lately because I have been a little depressed. I miss my big sister Mikaela and her boyfriend Lyman, a lot. You would think that I would be happy with having Gracie all to myself, but nope it seems Gracie has decided this year would be the year she got a social life. That has gotten me thinking a lot about loved ones and missing them. You know I have an older fur sister named Tutu that is getting long in the tooth. I hate to think of losing her, but I know it is just a fact of life. I remember when Winnie died my family was so sad. So, I wanted to talk to you about how you can prepare for losing your pet.
Death is, unfortunately, a fact of life. But losing your pet breaks your heart like no other. We give our families unconditional love and devotion. I mean I don’t think even real children provide that to their parents. And now that I am getting older, (I was six last April) and Tutu will be turning 14 on November first, I wanted to talk to you about some ways you can honor your pet.
Losing your pet is never easy, and for some, it can be life-altering. But having a plan in places and a way to remember them will help ease the pain a little. My mommy and daddy have gotten one of those Pawpods for when my time comes. I hope to be buried with Bun Bun and parts of Mikaela’s Blankie. I looked at it and I know that my parents will make my final resting place beautiful just like they did for Winnie.
Winnie was a bigger dog so they wrapped her in a furry blanket and buried her in the backyard at one of her favorite spots. My mommy loves Roses. So, my daddy went out and bought a rose bush to plant for Winnie. And do you know that Rosebush is the prettiest one in the yard? I know when Tutu’s and mine time comes that there will be roses planted for us and we will be buried next to Winnie. Having a final resting spot picked out for your fur babies makes losing your pet a lot easier.

i could really relate to this article. I have lost my dog of 10 years recently and it’s definitely a hard thing to go through ! great way to paying homage to man’s best friend
