A Home Away From Home
Disclosure: My older two girls and I were the guest of Sonesta ES Suites in Charlotte this weekend. However that does not change the views how much we loved out mini apartment.
This past year I have set goals for myself. I made a list of things I wanted to accomplish in the year. Three of goals I can cross of my list thanks to this weekend. These three goals were to attend a blogging conference, to pay for all expenses for the conference myself and to not be afraid to get out of my box and drive a long distance on a major highway. Anyone that knows me knows that when it comes to big cities I am a big chicken. I will talk about these things later in other blog posts but I am mentioning them now because … well let me just get on with it and you will see,
I decided back in January and Februray of this year to attend a blogging conference on the other side of our state. So once I purchased tickets I need a place to stay. That is where the Sonesta ES Suites Charlotte comes into play. My two older girls and I stayed there this weekend and to say that we will truly miss this place would be an understatement. Not only did we feel like it was a home away from home because folks it had all the modern conveniences. But the staff was so friendly. So let me begin with checking in.
We were greeted by a wonderful customer service representative, Charlie. He was not only helpful but very pleasant as well. He gave us suggestions on places to visit, places to eat and also directions to where our conference would be the next day. He had us all laughing. My only regret is that I did not get a picture of him. Michelle, who was my initial contact with the hotel had left us a little goodie bag to welcome us to the hotel.
So once we got the key, we decided to check out the room before we unloaded the car. We grabbed the elevator and went off to explore our home away from home for the weekend Suite 238. When we opened the room to the suite, to say we were impressed would be an understatement. We were in awe. Not only did our room have a two bedrooms and two full baths, but also a little kitchen as well as sitting/living room. As to not slight these rooms in any way I decided that I would do a post just about each room. So bear with me the next couple of days as you explore each part of the hotel with me.
I promise this will be a journey you won’t regret. Sorry in advance if I make you a little jealous.
