Everything You Need To Know About Fun Wraps

Disclosure: I received complimentary samples for this post. However the fact that my daughter loved them is real.

A couple of weeks ago, my soccer playing and might I also add soccer loving daughter Mikaela collided with another player during a game. She came out of the game complaining that her shoulder was bothering her. Of course that was during the first half, by the second half she was ready to go back in. But the results wasn’t so pretty. At the end of the game she was still complaining of shoulder pain so we took her to the doctor to get it checked out.

The x-rays revealed she had a severe shoulder sprain with a contusion to the bone with a possibility of a fracture. The doctor put her in a sling for 2 weeks and told her not to play any contact sports until she came back for a follow-up visit. (2 ½ weeks later) Of course you can imagine how that news just devastated my daughter. She started crying and for her to do that is big.

It is no fun for her sitting on the sideline watching her team play and wishing she could help them. The only consolation she got was she got to sport these cool fun wraps.

Her teammates loved the caution one because you see she got called for a foul even though she was the one who got injured they said people need to look out for her.

What are Fun Wraps you ask? They are like ace bandages but unlike those I had growing up which were brown and boring these come in a variety of colors. They almost make getting hurt fun. (Did you notice I said almost because let’s face it getting hurt is no fun.) It is a compression bandage for kids that stabilizes the injury. Mikaela had a lot of pain throughout her upper arm where the contusion was so she used it to apply a little pressure on it and to help alleviate some of the pain.

I had planned on doing a fun post for Fun Wraps but wouldn’t you know it they came about the time we needed them. The day before my daughter got hurt. I don’t know if it was an omen or not but they sure came in handy.

  1. My kids don’t really play much sports besides my son who does basketball. I like those fun wraps, it does deviate from the boring brown ace bandages that we used to have. I’m happy to know that your girl is doing better. Having an injury is no fun at all.

  2. I want this for myself! I was injured a lot during track season when I was a student athlete. I could use the caution bandage now when I have to keep ice packs on my knees!

  3. It is no fun being hurt and then having to sit on the side lines. I remember ace bandages the way you do–boring–These at least will bring a small ray of sunshine as her team mates exclaim over the cute designs!

  4. Oh what a horrible and painful injury! So glad you had these cool wraps to help her out and I love the caution one too!
