Unwind in Comfort After a Long Disney Trip with the Family

Unwind in Comfort After a Long Disney Trip with the Family from North Carolina Lifestyle Blogger Adventures of Frugal Mom

Imagine that you’re back from your Disney vacation with your family. Even though it was a ton of fun, the nonstop action has you more exhausted than ever. You probably feel like you need a vacation after your vacation. If only you could add a few days to the end of a trip to actually get some relaxation. Well, why can’t you?

Since it’s close to Disney World, and beautiful in its own right, Naples, FL is the perfect escape from a Disney vacation. With its clear blue skies, beautiful beaches, and dolphins’ sightings offshore, it can do a lot to restore your energy. Here are some ways to get away from your family and go on a relaxing getaway to the Southwest Florida area.

Attend a Yoga Class

There are several types of yoga classes in the Naples area, but most of them take place inside a studio. Try something a little different with Stand-Up Paddle Board Yoga. This class is hosted by the Naples Kayak Company and costs less than $40. Everything is included, even the paddle boards.

The class meets in different areas around Naples each Saturday. During this class, you’ll learn poses that prevent you from falling off the paddle board and into the river. You may struggle a bit, but you’re sure to get a workout. You’ll also get to paddle among the mangrove trees and take in your surroundings. If paddleboarding isn’t your thing, then you can also take a yoga class.

Go Wine Tasting

Cooper’s Hawk Winery Restaurant first opened in the spring of 2016. This is the ideal place to unwind with dinner and a wine tasting. The wine tasting takes about 30 minutes in a designated spot. The wine tasting costs just $7 for 8 tastings. The wine offerings change every month.

Booking an experience such as this is the perfect way to try something new and unwind away from your family. It’s actually a perfect date night if you can leave the kids with another adult and take your significant other on a wine tasting. Then you can decide together which wine you would like to pair with your dinner. You’ll feel as if you’re living in luxury.

Relax on Barefoot Beach

Laying on the beach can be incredibly relaxing, especially in the early morning or evening hours. But there are beaches in this area that are very noisy and crowded. Barefoot Beach is one of the most relaxing beaches in the Naples, Florida area. It’s considered a hidden gem by locals.

To get to Barefoot Beach, you’ll have to drive west to Bonita Beach Road until an approaching sign tells you to take a left into a private community. You’ll enter a private road, which you can drive for 1.5 miles until you’re at the beach. This secret treasure keeps the crowds away. It’s as if you have the entire beach to yourself.

Stay at a Quiet Resort

There are plenty of quiet resorts in Naples. Maybe you’re someone who wants a Naples hotel with a lazy river. This is one of the best ways to unwind after a strenuous Disney cruise.

The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa is one of the most relaxing and quiet resorts you’ll ever come across in your travels. This hotel not only has a lazy river but also boasts four waterslides. You can enjoy a relaxing day at the spa, or watch dolphins swim in the waters of a secluded island. Cozy, alluring rooms include amenities such as concierge service, a fitness center, a swimming pool, an on-site restaurant, and a kids’ program in case you don’t have a babysitter at home.

The Naples Grande Beach Resort is another standout place to relax. Offering a high level of luxury and service, this beachfront resort offers a true getaway experience, replete with tons of fun leisure activities, fine dining, and an amazing spa. If you need to rest after a hectic trip with the family, this Naples resort should be high on your list of destinations.

Treat Yourself to a Shopping Trip

This is one activity that you can’t resist: Naples is known for its incredible shopping. If you love shopping at boutiques, check out 5th Avenue and 3rd Street in Downtown Naples for a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. They have a wide stretch of open-air restaurants and tiny shops that could easily take several hours of your time.

Then travel North of downtown Naples to Venetian Village, which is just 10 minutes away. This open-air shopping center is in the heart of Venetian Bay. There’s also the Waterside Shops, which is another open-air shopping center that has luxury stores such as Gucci, Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co, and more. While this provides a luxury shopping experience, there are affordable retailers like Anthropologie and J.Crew.
