Summer Reading List: Broken Butterflies

I was given this book to help with my review on Broken Wings. I was not obligated to review it, but I felt it would be helpful to my readers to read what I thought about the first book in the series.
AFM Summer Reading List

The other day I had the chance to tell you about Wilted Wings, the second book a series written by Shadow Stevens. When I wrote the review I told you that I had not read the first book but I could not wait to read it. Well guess what two days later I read the book and will have to say that it is just as good as the second one. I will have to say that it clarifies a lot of questions that I had from the second book. But you don’t necessary need to read them in order. They are like a soap opera eventually you will catch up.

This book is about Ilisha and her human life. Here is a brief summary of the book.

BrokenButterfly[1]

Ilisha Morrison should have died the day she boarded the bullet train to Colorado. As her train collided with another, a handsome stranger saved her life, but put her in more danger than she ever imagined possible. Caught in a warring world of angels, demons, and a vengeful Death Maker who wants to destroy her, Ilisha discovers her true identity and that not everything is as it seems. Betrayal, heartache and two angels competing for her love forces Ilisha to make the hardest decision of her life.

I will have to say that I love the strength and growth Ilisha makes during the course of this book. She comes home to help her mom with her grandmother’s funeral, during the course of the trip her life changes forever. She learns things are not always what they seem and that she had another life before she was born into this one.

Just like the other book, there is mind blowing sex but not graphic scenes. We also get to more about Ilisha’s life before she remembers she is an angel and why she has parents in heaven and on earth. This is a definite must read for anyone who loves fantasy fiction. I give it two thumbs up. I am a definite fan of this series and I can not wait to read the next book.
