Today is another post in the series about erasing the negative images we see every day. I hope you are enjoying this series as much as I have enjoyed sharing these brave women with you. Just in case you missed any of this series, you can catch up by clicking giving back in the menu.
Today, I am honored to have one of the very first bloggers that I truly looked up and wanted to be like. I met Krystel when we both were part of the Busch Gardens Thrill Chasers bloggers. She is one of the sweetest and encouraging people I have ever met. Hope you enjoy her story.
Hi, my name is Krystel and I am the creator of ArmyWife101.com.
I took this picture not too long ago in my office on an afternoon. I partially took it because I needed a quick headshot and I was trying on some clothing I had just purchased.I’ve always been a plus size gal and always struggled with my body image so this image has brought years of my body image thoughts full circle.
I’m now in my 30’s, and I think this picture really depicts how I feel on the inside. I truly feel confident, smart, intelligent, colorful, and the weird color combination represents the fact that I am no longer afraid to try new things. This picture was also taken as a first shot— which in comparison to my many other shoots usually requires tons of images to be taken. I believe that’s because I refuse to break for others. I posed how I was comfortable and relaxed, and I intend to fully view my body and images of self in a different light.
