Mouth Watering Foods at North Carolina State Fair
So Happy Together is the theme for the 2022 North Carolina State Fair, and after attending the Media Day preview of new foods from local vendors- I can tell you one thing your tastebuds and mouth will be singing the tune to Happy Together.

This was my second year attending this media event. Last year I dreamed of the Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie, I knew after tasting it at the event I would be getting it when I attended the fair, and you better believe I did exactly that.
This year, however, there were a few things that stood out to me – some spicy and some sweet. And then there was also one I regretted not trying, and that was the Salmon Pops from Oak City Fish & Chips.
They won the best new food at the event. However, I did not taste it 🙁 because even though I love salmon, I have to be in the mood to eat it. And 11:30 am on a Monday morning was not the best time for that. LOL
But I did try a ton of other foods from different nationalities and places all over the triangle. I mean, just look at this list.

- Smokin’ Bovine Roll from Fat Boys BBQ
- Banana Cream Pie Donut from Fluffys Handcut Donut
- Chicken Pot Pie Biscuit from Fun Time Foods
- Cornbread & Chili Savory Funnel Cake from Gobblin’ Gourmet
- Korean Corn Dogs from Golden K Dogs
- Honey Butter Chicken Fries from Golden K Dogs
- Pumpkin Spice Mini Pancakes from Hot Chix Hotcakes & Chicken
- Buffalo Chicken Pinwheels from La Farm Bakery

- My Mom’s Magic Punch from OMG! Banana Pudding

- Sweet Potato Country Ham Biscuit from Somethin’ Good
But by far, my favorite was Jerk BBQ Pulled Pork Bowl. Y’all, it had mac and cheese in it. I am not a huge mac and cheese fan however, I think I could eat several bowls of this one. The spiciest of the pulled pork was the perfect combination for the creaminess of the mac and cheese. I know when I go to the fair, I definitely will be looking for their booth.
