Join Me in Doing a Medicine Cabinet Makeover
As I have said before I have been on a major cleaning spree. One of the first thing I did was a clean sweep of my medicine cabinet. Which leads me to the question when was the last time you cleaned out your medicine cabinet? Here are some tips to get you started.
- First take everything out of your cabinet. Our cabinet is a cabinet in the kitchen. We use a basket to hold all our medicine it sits on a shelf in that cabinet. Examine each item, make note of anything you are running low and might need to restock.
- Check expiration dates on all your medicine. Toss the expired ones, but not down the drain. In one article I read while researching how to dispose of medicine suggested to crush pills and dilute liquids and place in a plastic bag and add coffee grounds or kitty litter to the bag and then throw them out.
- Move your medicines to a location that free from heat and humidity and make sure that it is away from children.
- Here are some items to have on hand – bandages, gauze, tape, antibiotic cream, wipes, Benadryl, OTC medicines plus a thermometer.
