Frugal Tip: Racks Aren’t Just for Shoes
How many of you constantly go out and buy rice packets, noodle packets, or seasonings packets to only find out days later you already had one hiding in your pantry? I use to have that problem all the time. One day I was watching HG TV ( which you know by post yesterday is one of my favorite channels to watch.) During one of the commericals a tip came on. I thought it was a neat idea so I decided to try it out and it works for me. I know what you are thinking what is the tip and stop keeping us in suspense.
Here it goes- go to the store and buy one of those over the door shoe holders- the ones with the pockets not the racks. They are quick and easy to install. Just take it out of the bag- insert the metal hangers through the holes on top and put them over your pantry door. Then fill it up with all your little packets of goodies. I have been using mine for years and I love it. Here is a picture of mine:
I have only had to replace it one time. When we moved I upgraded to the canvas one. Before we were using the plastic one which tore easily. Even though the canvas was more expensive it is cheaper in the long run because you will not have to replace it as much. What frugal ideas do you?? Care to share.
