Excited to Be Attending JOY
I will be attending the JOY workshop as a guest of Melissa Harrell, the event coordinator.
When I wrote the post about my word of the year, Create, I mentioned that I want to create time for self- care. And by self-care, that means time spent enriching my life in one or another. Self-care could easily be getting my hair done, painting my nails, putting a mask and having a spa day, curling up with a good book or attending events. I already have two events on my schedule for this month and next that focuses just on that Self- Care.
The one this month, my dear friend, Melissa from Resiliency Counseling & Consulting will be doing this weekend. It is entitled JOY. And by JOY it means time spent Just On You. I can honestly say that I am looking forward to attending this event, because it is all about dealing with stress and with one daughter in California who will be getting married this year, one daughter in Greensboro, and one daughter still at home plus all the other duties that this momma faces on a daily basis I need some stress relief.
Even though stress is normal in everyday life, we can learn how to react to it differently. I am so looking forward to this workshop. It is broken down into 3 parts.
- Part 1 will be my friend Melissa talking about how we can break up with stress. I don’t know about you but that is one break up I wouldn’t mind having in my life.
- Part 2 is subtle yoga. Not sure what that is – yoga that you can do in your chair at work or home. It will teach how to use gentle movement and breathing to calm your body.
- The last part is the art of Prayer taught by an ordained minister. Because after Jesus did calm the storm in Mark 4:35-41.
I can honestly say that even though I am a little anxious for the event because it is something new for me, I am actually looking forward to attending and can’t wait to tell you about what I learned. If you are interested in attending tickets are still available by going to Resiliency Counseling & Consulting. Hope to see you there.
