Does your child like to be in the spotlight? Camp Cannon offers several drama camps for both aspiring and experienced actors from ages 6 to 17. Drama can help build self-confidence and speaking and presentational skills. All of the drama camps conclude with a parent performance. Here are the exciting offerings this summer:
“Drama: Dr. Cannoli’s Crazy Cures”, ages 6-9, is offered July 22-26; campers explore drama in this humorous play inspired by the book, Mrs. Piggle Wiggle.
“Drama: Tangled Trials”, ages 6-9, offered June 10-14, campers explore drama in humorous plays with well-known fictional characters such as Hansel and Gretel or the Fairy Godmother.
“Glee Club”, ages 7-10, offered June 17-21, campers have an opportunity to learn popular songs while adding movement for a show-stopping performance. Students also use their artistic skills to create scenery for the show.
“Life is a Stage”, ages 9-13, offered June 24-28, campers play various theater games to develop a comfort level in performing while working on short, creative productions. Focus is placed on self-confidence and team-work.
“Acting Shakespeare”, ages 13-17, offered July 8-12, campers build fundamental acting skills by learning how to bring Shakespeare’s characters to life. These skills prepare students to tackle any acting challenge with greater confidence, creativity, and better technique, and also equip them with tools that will make the future study of Shakespeare fun and enriching.
