There was nothing that my dad loved more than football. He would always get tickets to football games and take the grandkids with him. But since we lost him a few years back, we have sort of lost interest in the game. But not on one cozy weekend afternoon.
We decided to sit down and relax and watch a game. I know shocking that we were able to sit down and do nothing. Of course, we had to have few snacks on hands. Because we wanted to make things as simple as possible, I knew exactly what we would have on the coffee table for snacks. Coca-Cola and Ritz Crackers which I know I can always find at Walmart. I mean there are so many ways that you can serve them. My favorite is with some mozzarella cheese and some pepper jelly. Talk about yummy the cheese and buttery taste of the Ritz Crackers complement the spiciness of the pepper jelly. Plus I have found that if you wash it down with Coke your taste buds come alive.
But of course, you can’t forget the Northern classic of fluffer-nutters. Ritz Crackers topped with peanut butter and marshmallow cream. Talk about yum and the perfect thing to cut the spiciness of the pepper jelly snack.
And of course, Coca-Cola is amazing in and of itself but I always have ice cream on hand to make an ice cream float. Because really who doesn’t love an ice cream float?
Add a few fluffy blankets to cuddle under and add in some mini quiches and of course, a cute fluffy dog who begs and you have the recipe for a wonderful afternoon with family bonding over a football game.

Huh I’ve never had crackers, peanut butter, and marshmallow cream! I usually just do ritz crackers and some brie 🙂 Looks like a fun get-together for the family!
You should try it. Totally yummy.
These are such easy and cute treats! I love football season because I get to hang with friends and eat great food all day 🙂
