I always hear that it is better to be self-hosted than to have a blogspot.com URL. However, I'm too cheap to pay for something that doesn't bring me much money in. So, I opt for blogspot.com. I do know that Blogalina will transfer you over, or offers a DIY to transfer yourself. I'm going to stick with blogspot.com since I have seen successful bloggers who still have blogspot.com adresses.
