Surprising Unsung Household Heroes

Merriam Webster Dictionary defines a hero as a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities. But the term hero doesn’t always mean that you are talking about a person. A hero can also be an object of extreme admiration. That is where these household items come into play. It is amazing how ordinary things can be heroes. Just look at some of the examples of household heroes.

Soda can tabs- If you are hanging a picture frame and the hook is for the picture is missing, use a can tab as a replacement. Just glue it to the back of the frame allow for some drying time and hang.

Manicure scissors- Trim the loose thread in your carpet with these instead of pulling it out.

Candle Wax- This is awesome to use to quiet squeaky hinges. Just remove the pin and rub a candle against it. Replace the pin and swing the door back and forth. You can work on your biceps and triceps while doing this. Yes I am sneaking in some exercise.

Baking Soda- You can use this household here to clear a clogged drain. Pour a cap of baking soda and a cup of hot vinegar down the sink. Wait a few minutes then pour boiling water down the drain. This is an effective and eco-friendly cleaner.

Dental Floss- You can use this to re sew a button on your shirt. It is stronger than regular thread. You can also use it to cut a cake when a knife is not handy.
