How to Create a Bunny Inspired Mantel Display

mantel display

I have always loved decorating for the holidays. Whether it is Christmas, Valentine’s Day or whatever holiday I was in the full decorating mode. I even had parties for my girls as well. In the last few years as the girls have started to grow up, I have gotten away from decorating but last week I sometimes on my hands and decided to create an Easter display for my fireplace. This display is all about the bunnies. I loved how it came out, so I wanted to share it with you, so you can be inspired to decorate your home.

bunny template (1)

To make the bunny banner, I did a search for a bunny pattern online and printed it out to use as a template.

Bunny cutouts

I then took the template and out of felt I made my bunny cutouts. I made six cutouts. Five of these I utilized in the banner and the other one I used on the wreath that I made.

Fabric flowers as tails

I used fabric flowers I had on hand to make the bunnies fluffy tails. Then I took six strands of yarn and braided them together to create the garland. After I had the garland in place, I hot glued the bunnies to it. I did this after the garland was hanging because I wanted to be sure of the placement of each bunny.

Bunny wreath

I finished off my mantle by creating another yarn wreath. I just added a bunny to the wreath. Did you notice the yarn is the same as the one I used for the garland. I was able to make the garland from leftover yarn from the wreath. I hung the wreath on a wreath stand that is always on my mantel.

So tell me what do you think of my bunny inspired display? I am still not finished have to add some eggs in there as well.

Check out the other bunny wreath I made from coat hangers and scrap fabric here.
