Why I Started Blogging: The Story Behind the Adventure

why I started blogging

When I first dipped my toes into the world of blogging, I wasn’t chasing fame, followers, or even financial gain. I was chasing something far more personal — a voice, a purpose, and a connection.

It all started during a season of my life when everything felt a little too heavy. Between raising three daughters, managing a busy household, and navigating life’s curveballs, I often felt like I was losing little pieces of myself along the way. I needed a space that was mine — a space to create, to share, and to breathe.

That’s when I opened up my laptop one night, heart full of stories and hands slightly trembling, and typed my very first blog post.

A Simple Start with a Big Heart

“I wrote about what I knew — family life, frugal living, and the beauty of everyday moments.”

In those early days, my posts were simple. Recipes passed down from my mama, DIY projects that brightened our home, budget-friendly tips to make every dollar stretch further — and little glimpses into my journey as a wife and mom.

Blogging felt like catching up with a dear friend over a cozy cup of coffee — swapping stories, encouragement, and little nuggets of wisdom.

Finding More Than I Expected

Over time, blogging became so much more than just a hobby.

It became:

  • A creative outlet when I needed to dream
  • A source of healing during seasons of loss
  • A way to build community with people who truly understood

“Every time I hit publish, I realized I wasn’t just sending words into the void — I was connecting with real people.”

People who, just like me, needed to hear, “You’re not alone.”

Why I Really Started Blogging

At its core, I started blogging because I believe our stories matter.

  • I needed a place where my voice, even if it trembled, could be heard.
  • Writing has always been my way of making sense of the world.
  • I wanted to create a space where others could find hope, joy, and inspiration in the everyday.

Through every milestone, every heartache, and every celebration, my blog has been a faithful companion — a record of not just my life, but the heart behind it.

A Little Encouragement for You

“If you’ve ever thought about starting a blog but hesitated, let me tell you this — you don’t have to have it all figured out.”

You don’t need:

  • A fancy website
  • A perfect niche
  • A big audience

You just need your story.
Because somewhere, someone is waiting to hear it — and it might just be the lifeline they need.

Still Blogging, Still Believing

Today, I’m still here, blogging from my cozy little “Blog Cabin,” and still believing that sharing our imperfect, beautiful lives can change the world — one story, one post, one connection at a time.

“The adventure continues — and I’m so grateful you’re part of it.”
