English Muffin Pizza Snacks

All you need is:

  • 1 or 2 English muffins cut in half
  • Soft butter
  • Pizza sauce
  • A few slices of mozzarella cheese
  • A pinch of basil for seasoning

Heat your oven to 400°F. Cut your English muffin in half, making sure it is cut-side-up on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and use a little melted butter on top.

Bake it until toasted very lightly, around eight to ten minutes. Place a spoonful of pizza sauce (of your choice) and then a thin layer on mozzarella and bake until melted, five to eight minutes before serving.

Parents can take time to prepare after-school snacks for their kids. It’s nice to have something already made to give them when they get home.

Homemade Honey Grahams

All you need to get your kids excited when they return home are:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup toasted wheat germ
  • Two tablespoons brown sugar
  • One teaspoon baking powder
  • One teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Six tablespoons chilled sliced butter
  • 1/4 cup of room temperature honey
  • A few tablespoons of cold water

First, whisk together all ingredients except honey and the cold water. Slice the chilled butter until it looks flaky.

In another bowl, whisk together both the honey and water while slowly adding to your other ingredients. With a soft fork, press down the dough until everything starts to hold together.

Then be sure to cover and chill inside your refrigerator until it becomes firm about thirty minutes.

After it is chilled, preheat your oven to 350° F. On a lightly floured surface or board, roll each portion of dough to 8-inch square size. Using a dull knife, cut each into sixteen 2-inch squares. Place all on baking sheets with parchment paper.

Bake until the edges are sightly brown; that should take around ten minutes. Take out of the oven for it to cool.

Ranch Pretzels Make a Great After-School Snack

Many kids today would fall in love when they try ranch pretzels. They are tasty, but they are easy to digest, and they are not filling before dinner time. These pretzels are also good for fun games and parties. Being very tasty, all you need to make these are:

  • Ranch dressing and seasoning mix
  • Garlic powder
  • Dill weed
  • Canola oil (enough to use for the pretzels)
  • Pretzels

Simply in a large mixing bowl, mix the ranch dressing, garlic powder, dill weed, and oil. Add the pretzels and mix to coat. Let the pretzels soak for a few minutes.

Be sure to bake in the oven to 200° F and pour the pretzels onto a cookie sheet for twenty minutes. Take them out of the oven to cool before your kids are ready to eat.

Pizza Roll-Ups Make Another Tasty Treat

To make tasty pizza rolls, all you need are:

  • One can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Two small cans (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls

Directions:

In a small cooking pot, on medium heat, cook the tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and oregano together until bubbly. Set aside.

Separate all the dough into eight rectangles by pressing the layers together. Place about four tablespoons of the sauce, mozzarella cheese, and oregano together on one long side of each rectangle. Roll up each and cut each roll into several pieces.

Place all of them, side down, by not touching each other at least two inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets.
