Until Next Time Review

Until Next Time?? How many times have we heard that phrase and just taken it for granted?  Take care until next time and so forth and so on. That phrase appears in our conversations several times a day. Have you ever thought about what it actually means? Well in the book appropriately titled Until Next Time, author Amy Lignor addressed this question in the first of a series of books called the Angel Chronicles.  In this book the main characters are angels sent from heaven to learn about human life and free will. Here is a short summary of the book.

How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?

Matt and Emily, the angels in human shells were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive; depending on the ‘life’ they’ve been assigned. What they don’t realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache. We all have felt this at some point. I admit lately have been struggling with some of these emotions myself.

When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz’s establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel’s path and a warrior’s plans.

From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that’s ripping them apart.

Sounds like a great read right? Well I am here to tell you that it is an amazing read. I found myself cheering for Matt and Emily as they struggle with finding their own choices in life. Yes they are angels but they were angels with amnesia. Basically they knew nothing about their lives before and they are struggling with right and wrong just like we all are. The main thing that really struck a chord with me is that no matter what you have done in your life there is that moment before death that you ask for forgiveness and it be granted. How amazing is that? This is a great read. If you like Christian fiction you will sure to like this one. I especially like the part about the saints trying to win each other candies. I love Lignor gave God and all his disciples human like qualities so that we can identify and realize that we are all from HIM.
