#GetUnreal Candy is a great Alternative to Junk Food

I was recently given the opportunity to host a party for Unreal Candy. What is this you ask? Why it is candy that is similar to those that are on the market now but does not contain all the “junk” that the other candy alternatives do. That have replaced the “junk” in candy with the good stuff. They have doubles the cacao, added more peanuts, used real milk, real cane sugar and organic palm fruit oil. They have 30% less sugar, 60% more fiber (imagine a candy that will help you to become regular LOL) and 250% more protein on average per serving than the leading brand of candy bars.
How did this company start? Believe it or not it was started because a thirteen year old boy asked one Halloween why candy needs to be so unhealthy. After an argument with his father, he did a bit of research only to find that candy is filled with bad things like hydrogenated oils and artificial colors and flavors. And what’s worse, he found out that those ingredients don’t make candy taste better, they simply make it cheaper to produce.
Nicky believed that candy without the junk could be made and that it would taste better. And he and his father and brother decided to prove it. And they did.

We were able to sample several types of their candy.  We had friends come over for a taste test. The girls had some of their friends and I had some of mine as well as this is what we sampled and their reactions. They were:

Chocolate Caramel Nougat Bar

Beth said “very good tasted just like its junk food counterpart. I couldn’t really tell a difference.”

MAria as you can tell by the picture loved it. She gave it a thumbs up.

Maddie, Mikaela and Gracie liked it as well but it was not their favorite.

Generally the opinions were that they could not taste the difference from the junk food bar. So one down many more to go.

Candy Coated Chocolates
Beth said “My favorite! I would choose these over M&Ms everyday! I really liked the taste and the colors were really pretty too! My son who will not eat M&Ms anymore fought over this candy with me because he wanted it all!” (Beth’s son is 2, so if what a great way to give an alternative to junk)

Maddie and Ashley loved these. As if you can’t tell by the picture. They fought over them in fact they ended up sharing the last bag together.

This was Brittany’s favorite.

So overall once again they could not tell the difference between the two versions.

Peanut Butter Cup
Beth said “awesome taste and I loved that I didn’t have to peel off the black paper!”

Gracie loved these and could not tell the difference. In fact peanut butter cups are her favorite candy. I felt good as a mom giving her one with less sugar and more fiber. This did not make her IBS act up.

I have to admit that I loved these as well. They were my favorite and no black paper made them even better. But Gracie and I were not the only one in the family that loved these as well. Mikaela liked them as well. As a matter of fact I made the mistake of letting my girls taste these before the party , let’s just say that there was almost no peanut butter cups for the party. I think if I would have let them they would have eaten them all and not have any for our guests. But as you can tell by the picture below Mikaela did share with Ashley.

Chocolate Peanut Caramel Nougat Bar
Beth said “I did not like this one as much I would much rather have a snickers. I think the darker chocolate may be what I did not like. My husband loved it though!” ( I think this was the only bar that tasted just a little bit different)

As you can see Casey is ready to run out the door with one in her hand. She loved them that much. I gave everyone a goody bag of candy to take home but Casey wanted this one all to herself.

Candy Coated Chocolates with Peanuts

Beth said “Very good tasted just like its junk food counterpart”

As you can see by the picture these were Cassidy’s and Elisa’s favorites.

I loved them as well but I had a hard time fighting them away from these girls.

I would have to say that these were the favorites of most of my oldest daughter’s friends.

Now to be fair I did have some of the other candy and it was a blind taste test but 9 times out 10 unreal candy was the candy that was picked. I think that Beth, one of my friends, summed it up the best when she said ” Overall I like all the candies and so did my husband ( who by the way serves in the air force) and son. Given the choice I would buy the UNJUNKED (UNREAL) version over the regular candy if they were the same price. Given the extra dietary fiber I would be more willing to buy a UNJUNKED (UNREAL) candy bar where normally I would pass on any candy bar.” So there you have it folks Unreal candy is the preferred candy of my party guests.
