Top Ten Ways To Motivate Your Child To Learn

If you want your child to be an academic, you must not limit learning to the walls of their classroom.  While the skills he or she is learning in the classroom is crucial to their social and intellectual growth, the child needs your help to open up the world of ideas.  This renewed sense of discovery will transfer to schoolwork, so you can boost his or her academic achievement as well!

1. Fill The Child’s World With Reading

Reading is a significant basis for learning.  Show how significant reading is by filling the house with printed materials, such as newspapers, novels, posters and even placements with words as decorations.

2. Encourage Freedom Of Opinion, Discussion Of Feelings And Making Choices

It is important that the child is aware of their freedom to express an opinion and make a decision.  It could be as simple as choosing a side dish for dinner or selecting extracurricular activities.  Ask for input on family plans, but always show that you value the opinions provided.

By offering the child different play opportunities, you can improve different learning styles ranging from visual and audio learning to sorting and sequencing.  Supply the child with resources that promote open-ended play, such as building blocks, and you can improve the child’s problem solving and creativity.  A lot of unstructured play time is needed to explore the resources, but it can be beneficial in developing the child’s personality and logical thinking skills.

Even if the science test did not receive a high pass grade, he may have composed a brilliant English poem.  Instead of focusing on the bad, be sure to point out the good and encourage their learning.
