Tomato Tips
- Select firm tomatoes with dark color. They should feel heavy as light tomatoes can be mealy and bland.
- Keep at room temperature.
- Very ripe tomatoes should be refrigerated.
- When cooking fresh tomatoes, avoid aluminum pans. The acid in the tomatoes may react and form an unpleasant taste.
- In cooked tomato dishes, a pinch of sugar helps the flavor,
- Wash tomatoes right before use. Washing before storage can cause spoilage.
