3 Perfect Rainy Day Activities To Do With the Kids
Y’all, fall is here to stay. Long gone are days at the pool and bonfires at night. Instead, we’ll all be bundling up in sweaters and getting ready for the dreaded winter. Don’t get me wrong; I love fall. It’s just there are so many more rainy and gloomy days in this season than there are in the summer. It used to make me frantic because I didn’t know what to do when the little ones were stuck in the house. Thankfully, my girlfriend shared three perfect rainy day activities to do with the kids. These tips were a lifesaver; now I want to share them with you.
Puzzles
I become a puzzle aficionado during quarantine, y’all. My hubby and I were cranking out a few a day. Luckily, I still have a ton of creative puzzles for when the weather is less than perfect. I’ll admit, my children do get frustrated when they can’t find the perfect piece. Yet it’s really amazing to watch them work together, and the smiles on their faces when the project is done are priceless. Now that they’re older, the kids post their puzzling achievements on Instagram.
Build a Fort
My kids loved camping when they were younger. If you feel the same way, think about building a fort in the house on rainy days. The little ones will have a blast draping sheets over pieces of furniture. If you want to make it extra special, make sure the TV lands in the fort so that you can have a movie marathon.
Baking
My children and I love to bake. It’s truly the perfect rainy day activity to do with the kids. If your children are younger, being in the kitchen will teach them loads about teamwork, y’all. Assign each one of them a task so that everyone feels valued. They can insert their own creativity when the decorating begins. Y’all should’ve seen how much frosting my little ones used to dump on our cookies.
Rainy days don’t have to be full of doom and gloom. In fact, some of my fondest family memories were made in the darkest of days. With these tips, you might end up having the time of your life.
