Teaching Your Young Kids at Home during the COVID-19 Crisis from North Carolina Lifestyle Adventures of Frugal Mom

As schools are closed during the coronavirus crises, you must keep your kids routine in place. It is healthy for your kids to keep them occupied through various fun learning activities. Learning is not a ‘natural’ process. When it comes to young kids, the process is even more complicated and it demands proper teaching through some strategies—for instance, providing phonemic awareness to your toddler by introducing an association between letters and sounds.

I know, as I write this article, you’re probably wondering how to teach your kids through a positive experience. Here I’m going to list a few ideas to make learning fun for your kids:

Activity Worksheets

Activity fun worksheets are an excellent idea to polish your kids’ math, science, language, reading, writing, spelling, and critical thinking skills. A worksheet is a piece of paper with a lot of questions and activities on it that your child can perform or answer.

Letter Fishing Game

A letter fishing game is an alphabet activity to introduce letters to your toddler. You can play ‘catch a letter fishing game’ with him to give the concept of English alphabets, total number, and the alphabet sequence. Letter fishing game comes with a number of colorful plastic fishes. And, alphabets are usually written on them.

Colored Popsicle Sticks

Have you ever thought of using popsicles sticks and coloring them to teach your kids? If not, grab a few sticks and dip them into different colors. You can then write alphabets and numbers on them. For instance, if you want to introduce your kid with a square shape, you can take four sticks, paint them with any color, write number 4 on each stick, and make a square shape with them.
