Summer is amusement park season.  We just recently went to Kings Dominion, an amusement park in Virginia, for the day. I rode my first and my LAST roller coaster.  I am glad that I did read this book before I rode that roller coaster because I would not have gotten on it. Here is a little bit about the book.

When a bomb explodes at an amusement park eight people are killed. This tragedy and loss will change the lives of those who loved and lost them. What happens when disaster touches someone’s life? Will it inspire them? Destroy them? Or change them? A character study of grief, loss, and finding your way through tragedy, follow the survivors as they work to move forward when their life is abruptly shattered.

I will have to say this book is a quick read and I was at the edge of my seat as I was reading it. I loved how the author Lorena Bathey, showed how everyone deals with grief in their own way. For some it is the spark they need to change their lives to actually get out and start to enjoy their life. For others, it is the end of the world and they chose to end their lives as well. Others turn to drugs or alcohol to dull the pain and the heartache. Others chose to escape in the arms of someone else or escape from reality.

I will say that I loved this book. I also loved how Bathey showed how with bigger corporations they are always looking for a scapegoat, someone to blame for the tragedy that happened.

I loved how she also used a variety of nationalities in her book as well. If you are looking for a grab your attention novel to read than this is the book for you.
