Some Out Of The Box Tips For Your Bathroom Remodel

Considering how important a space your bathroom is, it’s amazing that it gets the least amount of love of any room in the house! It’s typically an in-and-out space, go in, take care of the business at hand, and exit! The only time anyone lingers is when they want to take a hot bath or are catching up on their magazine reading…

Because of this, the bathroom tends to age badly, collecting grime over the years, and having its basic maintenance neglected until one day you find yourself calling for shower repair in Sydney because the water on the floor is as deep as the water in the shower! If things have gotten to be that bad between you and your bathroom, it might be time to tear it all out and start from scratch with a major remodel!

Before you get started, we have a few ideas to help you get inspired first!

The Toilet – Although it flies in the face of convention, we have a wonderful proposition for you- whatever you do, don’t make the toilet the first thing you see when you open the bathroom door! Just don’t do it! When you think about it, it makes sense. If you are currently occupying its seat and someone unwittingly opens the door without knocking, there you are in plain sight! Wouldn’t it be better if you were hidden around the corner? Even if you aren’t currently in residence, the toilet isn’t the most attractive thing to see, even the fancy designer styles like you will probably be picking out are still just toilets! Wouldn’t it be better to open the door and feast your eyes on the delicate curves of a French bathtub and its bright brass fixtures? We think so! Just make sure to close the shower curtain, and maybe install a lock on that door!

The Sink – We have another clever idea for you- put the sink in the corner! Think about it, the corner is usually just wasted space, and bathrooms are usually a bit tight on extra space anyway! If you put a nice round sink in the corner, you can still have room under it for a toothbrush drawer and towel shelves, and have a mirror on each side that meets in the middle, giving you a great view of the side of your head you don’t usually see!

The Tub – We already said French bathtub, and we meant it! Now that the sink is out of the way in one corner, and the toilet is tucked away in the other, you can install your pièce de résistance, the elegant white porcelain curves rising above the floor tiles on its brass lion’s feet, more a work of art than a utilitarian fixture! Its spacious depths and form-fitting shape make it the perfect bath for lengthy lounging in with some bubbles, and you can still use it as a shower by simply installing an attractive circular shower curtain hanging above it from the ceiling! These simple, but slightly out-of-the-box renovation tips will ensure that your bathroom becomes a place you love to spend time in!
