Soft Surroundings Class All Its Own
I was invited to the Grand Opening of the new location of Soft Surroundings.
Shopping at a mall is just an ordinary everyday experience right? I mean most likely if you go into one store you aren’t surprised by the layout or the items they have for sale. Even though the items may be different, the layout is pretty much the same. Racks of clothes, a mannequin here or there, windows for window shopping, etc., you get what I mean. The same thing but a different version. I have always thought that way until I encountered a store in Streets at Southpoint, a mall in Durham, North Carolina.
Back at the end of May, I was invited to attend the grand opening of a women’s boutique that was opening at the Streets of Southpoint. I agreed because this summer has been about creating experiences with my youngest before she flies the nest. So I was looking forward to sharing this experience with her. So off we went in the Honda, to make the hour and a half trek to Durham. We arrived and set out to find the store, Soft Surroundings.
When we found it, I knew this wasn’t going to be like any store I have ever been in. First, the outside was just beautiful. The display windows were on point. But then when you step into the store, you feel like you are stepping into another dimension. There were chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, quotes inscribed on the walls, fresh flowers everywhere and just a feeling of luxury.
While we were there I tried on a few things, thinking that this would be the perfect place to find my mother of the bride dress, in their amazing dressing rooms. Think of the dressing rooms you see in movies like Pretty Woman and you know what I am talking about. Yep, that classy- total lap of luxury. I was not impressed with the design of the store but with the products as well. I have my eye on a few things that I can’t wait to buy but it will be after the wedding.
About the Company
Not familiar with Soft Surroundings, well let me tell you a little bit about them. It was founded in 1999 as a catalog company. They sell women’s apparel, home products as well as beauty products. In 2005, they moved from a strictly catalog company to add brick and mortar stores to their franchises. They have some amazing one of a kind items that you can check out by clicking on their website.
If you are local to the Raleigh/ Durham area, you can find Soft Surroundings in the mall part of the Streets at Southpoint. If you aren’t local, you can always find if they have a location near you by checking out their website.
