Organizing Tasks to End the Year on A Good Note
With the holidays come the new year and finding a place for all that new stuff that you might be receiving as gifts. Here are some tips to help you get organized in the New Year.
- Update your calendar. Buy a calendar for next year and write all family and friends birthday on it. Also make sure to record any upcoming yearly expenses, vacations or any other dates you already know of in 2014.
- Do one task a day. Check to see how many days are left in the year. Write down the chores you want to finish and schedule one task a day until all of your chores are done.
- Empty your email box. Take a few minutes to sort emails and delete all emails that are no longer needed and make sure to take care of the important ones.
- Clean out your closet. Donate to a woman’s shelter or a thrift shop.
- Toss files. Spend 15 minutes a day and go through your filing cabinet or your desk . Toss papers that you do not need and shred any that contain personal information.
- Clean the car. Remove everything. Get a duffel bag and make a winter survival kit for the car. In this kit you can include gloves, hats, nonperishable food. water, a flashlight, blankets, and a first aid kit.
- Clean out those medicine cabinets. Check with your local pharmacy to see how to discard expire medicine. Dispose of outdated medicine, makeup and toiletries. Take note of items that you might need to restock and then head to the store to restock it.
- Organize your holiday decorations as you taking them down.
- Organize your goals. Write down all that you want to do in the new year and put it somewhere save and at the end of the year reflect on it.
- Put all away everything you got new.
- Organize a drawer a day. Take a few minutes to organize a drawer each day.
- Update your address book.
- Clean off the top of your desk. It helps with the feeling of not being overwhelmed.
- And lastly empty that laundry basket.
This is just a list of some of the things that will help you get organized in the new year.
