There is a movie that opened this past Wednesday, that I was given the opportunity to prescreen it. The movie, “The Guilt Trip” is a great date movie. Or a movie to take in with friends. Here is a brief summary of the movie.
Andy Brewster (Seth Rogan) is about to embark on the road trip of a lifetime, and who better to accompany him than his overbearing mother Joyce (Barbra Streisand). After deciding to start his adventure with a quick visit at mom’s,
Andy is guilted into bringing her along for the ride. Across 3,000 miles of ever-changing landscape, he is constantly aggravated by her antics, but over
time he comes to realize that their lives have more in common than he originally thought. His mother’s advice might end up being exactly what he needs.
I will have say that this movie was very touching and fitting. Most of the time when we grow up we tend to leave our parents behind. In doing so our parents find frivolous things to take up their time. When they are allowed back in your life they still have lessons that you have yet to learn from them.
This movie was great study on how sometimes parents need to learn to let go. I found this movie quite funny. I love the chemistry between Seth and Barbra. It was great to see Barbra Streisand on the big screen again. I don’t think this woman every ages. There is several scenes in the movie that I laughed until I cried. So if you are looking for a movie to see during the holiday break check out The Guilt Trip which is out in theaters now. Check your local theaters for listings.
