It’s Time For Bed With Yawning Yoga

How is your child’s bedtime routine? It is a structure routine or is it one of OMG look at the time- you should have been in bed already? Honestly, I would love to say that our bedtimes are like the first one but unfortunately it is the latter. With 3 girls and all their activities – bedtime has turned into something of a mess. With my focus of change, makeovers, and focusing more on my my family I look for products that will help with this mission.

I received the opportunity to review Yawning Yoga by Laurie Jordan. I am so glad I did. This book is amazing. This book was designed specifically to help kids sleep. I found it educational as well. I have always tried to find ways to get Gracie physically active and this book allows her to do just that. With Gracie’s health issues sometimes she needs to get her mind off of things before she goes to bed. She just needs to relax at the end of the day and at bedtime but sometimes there is no time to unwind. But now she makes the time. She allows herself sometime by reading her Yawning Yoga book and practices her yoga as well. Yep that is right Gracie now does yoga.

This book is written like a poetry book. Each page is a different poem explaining a yoga move. What is great about this book is that it contains an index with pictures of the actual yoga move. So if a child can not visual what the moves are by reading the poem then they can flip to the back and look at the picture. I loved how the attention is focused on relaxation techniques because one of the major causes of Gracie’s IBS to flare is stress. So teaching her ways to relax and unwind during the day and at night is a plus in my book.

Gracie loves to do her yoga at night with Beary and Allie, of course. Since we received this book this is one of the highlights that she looks forward to every night.

So if you have a hectic bedtime schedule or if your child struggles with a stress or has a stressful health issue then I suggest you try Yawning Yoga and doing some of the yoga moves with your child before bed and soon they will drifting off into dreamland.

I received a complimentary copy of Yawning Yoga for the sole purpose of this review. All opinions expressed are soley mine.
