If You Love Racing, You’ll Love This Event
My family and I will be attending this awesome event as a guests. Although I will reviewing the event, the excitement about the event is of our own making.
Just about a half mile from the North Carolina border located on the Dan River in Virginia is a little known raceway that will be holding a huge racing. Virginia International Raceway will be hosting the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship the weekend of August 21-23. Not sure what this is exactly, here is a little background information on it.
It is a result of a merger between GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and the American Le Mans Series, kicks off Aug. 21 with testing, qualifying, car corrals, driver autograph sessions, team chats, tech talks and more. The Championship will welcome GT LeMans and GT Daytona classes as they battle for overall GT supremacy!
Still not sure think a more sophisticated form of street racing on a road course. I will admit that I have never been to this kind of race before. The only racing that I follow is Nascar. I have even been to several races and tracks during my life. But I don’t think I was as excited as I am about my family and I attending this event. One because it is near where my oldest daughter lives, so we plan on kidnapping her for the day to attend the event with us.
Another is because I have heard a lot about Grand Prix, I mean after all it is good enough for Patrick Dempsey ( Dr. McDreamy off of Grey’s Anatomy) than who am I to disagree.

This event is sure to be one that my whole family will enjoy. My oldest, because she gets to be with family. The middle daughter, who is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, for the mechanics of the race car. And my youngest because she gets to say she is going out-of-town for the weekend. ( She is 13 and being able to tell her friends that we will going to a cool event gives her cool points. )
Tickets are still available for this amazing event check their website for more information.
