How to Make Faux Succulent Art

I love spending time letting my fingers scroll through all the glorious items that are offered on Jane. I get a lot of my clothes from there and always get tons of compliments on them. But I also look to Jane for home decor inspiration. I often brainstorm to see if I can make something a little cheaper. One day I saw a piece of faux succulent art and I challenged myself to recreate it for a fraction of the cost.

The first thing I did was take a trip with Gracie, the youngest daughter to Hobby Lobby to look for a frame. ( I know Hobby Lobby is closed right now but I created this piece of faux succulent art before Covid19 hit.) My friend, Emily, told me that they were having a sale on frames. Once we got to the frame section, I looked but I really didn’t see any I liked so we decided to check out the clearance section on a whim. And I scored. Gracie spotted a frame that had the word brush written inside of it in wooden letters. ( I should say that it was supposed to say BRUSH but the BR was missing.) The frame was $2.00 so I grabbed it. So now I had the frame, I just needed to grab the other supplies. Keep reading to see what I grabbed
How to Make Faux Succulent Art
Materials needed

From Hobby Lobby
- Brush frame
- A roll of moss (y’all I never knew moss came in a roll. That is a life changer for sure.
- A few hanging faux succulents ( I know you are thinking why only hanging succulents, keep reading and you will find out.)
I knew that I only needed hanging succulents because I had bought some faux succulents from the dollar tree a few months back for a project I ended up not doing. So I decided to use them for this project instead.
From Dollar Tree
- Faux succulent plants
Extra Materials
- Hot Glue Gun
- Glue sticks
Directions
- I took the remaining letters out of the frame. ( To be completely honest, I wish that was true but I have no strength in my hands, so my hero, my hubby Raul came to the rescue for this job.)

- I then measured out the length of moss I would need to fill the bottom of the frame. Because the frame was wider than the moss, I had to cut two strips.
- Using my hot glue gun, I hot glued the moss to the inside of the frame. I did one strip at a time.

- After both strips were glued down it ended up like this.
- I then played around with the placement of the faux succulents before I used the hot glue gun to attach them in place.
Below is a picture of the finished product.

I was really happy with the way this piece of faux succulent art came out. It was a really easy project and I made it for a fraction of the cost if I had bought it from Jane. So tell me have you seen something you would like to make? If so drop it in the comments below and let’s start getting crafty.
