Having A Big Time With Big Time Rush

Just this past Sunday our whole family attended the Big Time Rush concert at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion. We had originally bought these as lawn seats through a deal I found through Groupon. If you have not signed up for Groupon you need to do it. There are many great deals that offer that normally I know as a family of five we could afford. For instance we got 5 Lawn seats for $15 a piece to this concert. Normally each would be $25 so we saved $50 and the girls were able to attend this amazing concert. For Gracie this was not her first concert, she had attended a Taylor Swift before. But for Maddie and Mikaela this was their first concert experience.

I was a little worried at first that they would not enjoy this experience, they were just sitting there but once Victoria Justice took the stage they were getting into it. It wasn’t until Big Time Rush come on that they really got into the concert experience.  This post is more of photo essay of the concert.

I know I told you that we had lawn seats and we had bought blankets as we were prepared to sit on the lawn. But we got there around the time that the gates opened and they were upgrading seats. So we were able to move to actual seats instead of sitting on the grass. So it pays to be early.

The girls loved watching her. They just wished that it was darker when she came on. They said that part of the show would have been better in the dark. Victoria Justice is the star of Victorious on Nickelodeon. The series revolves around aspiring singer Tori Vega (portrayed by Victoria Justice), a teenager who attends a performing arts high school called Hollywood Arts High School, after taking her older sister Trina’s place in a showcase while getting into screwball situations on a daily basis.

See what I mean about not being sure if they would enjoy their first concert experience. They look bored right.

If you are not familiar with Big Time Rush. Here is a little bit about them. Big Time Rush is a Nickelodeon Viacom Music Productions Band consisting of four members: Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson, and Carlos Pena Jr. They also star in a television program on Nickelodeon by the same name. My girls all have favorite ones. Mikaela loves Carlos (of course, because of the Hispanic connection) Maddie’s favorite is Logan and Gracie’s is Kendall.

They had a very simple set but it was an awesome show to see.

I do not know how I managed to get this shot. It was on the big screen. I think I caught it at the right moment that the screen changed. But I thought it was pretty cool.

They were really enjoying themselves now.

Sadly the concert had to end. My girls had a great time at this concert. Gracie said it was better than Taylor Swift lol. Both of my older girls loved their first concert experience. We are making plans to attend other concerts in the future. We are just waiting to see what tickets go on sale through Groupon.

I will have to give a shout out to my husband. He drove us to the concert and he sat there like a trooper throughout the whole concert not once complaining about anything.

Here is tip. If you are going to an important event that you want to capture in pictures, if you have more than one camera bring the extra one with you. So if one dies or malfunctions (batteries die) you have the other as backup. I took both of mine and I was glad. You figure that one out. LOL
