GP: Create a Whole New Look for You and Your Home in 2014
Every year, hundreds of us make passionate promises to get fitter, eat healthier and generally overhaul our lives when January 1st rolls around. But how many of us actually stick to these promises? The answer is not many and that’s often because it’s a bit too much all at once. If you really want to make some changes in 2014, start small and you’d be surprised at what a big impact they will make.
New Statement
If you feel you really need a push to invigorate the new you, why not give yourself a quick and funky update? Tattoo transfers work in a similar way to fabric ones (without the need of an iron, obviously) and the best thing is, they don’t last forever. Once you get tired of a design, you can simply try a new one! Websites such as Crafty Computer Paper will point you in the right direction to find the right kind of materials for your needs. If you’re a bit nervous at first, go for something small and subtle, like a flower or butterfly and put it somewhere less obvious, such as your shoulder or ankle.
New Wardrobe
One of the simplest ways to give yourself a boost in the New Year is to give your wardrobe a bit of care and attention. We’re not talking about throwing it all out and starting over – that’s a bit drastic. Why not keep it simple and just update a few tired-looking items to bring a spring back into your step. Fabric transfers are a fabulously fun way of injecting new life into clothing that has lost its sparkle. A T-shirt or canvas bag can be transformed simply by using a colourful fabric transfer and an iron.
New Home
Once you have started to feel better about your look, it’s time to tackle your living space. Whether you have a house to yourself or have everything contained in one room, you can still give it a makeover for 2014. Look at how you can improve the space you do have, by finding better storage solutions or clearing out clutter. You’d be amazed at how much better you will feel when you have more room to move about in. A few new pieces of artwork for the walls or a lick of paint if you’re feeling adventurous and your living space gets a whole new look.
New Outlook
It’s not enough to just change the environment around you; in order to have a new and brighter outlook on life and the coming year, you have to change the way you look at yourself too. You may not have that dream job yet, or have found that special someone but that doesn’t mean 2014 isn’t your year to make it happen. Making positive changes, no matter how small, will give you fuel for life. Set up job alerts to find that ideal job, or join a singles group if you’re feeling lonely. In the end, sometimes you have to go out and grab life instead of waiting for it to come to you.
