Does Murder Follow You?

Imagine if you will leaving the town that you have learned to love to create a new life because of an ability that had put you in danger only to find that in your new town you are in a similar situation. Has this ever happened to you? I hope not, but in the book, Murder on Spyglass Lane written by J.M. Griffin.

Here is a brief summary of the story.

Artist Sarah McDougall flees from New England to Florida’s west coast thinking she can escape her unwanted psychic abilities. When she finds a dead body buried under the sand trap on the thirteenth hole of the golf course behind her home, Sarah realizes she was mistaken. She is stuck with an ability that will nearly be her undoing. Unable to shake the sick feeling in the pit of her stomach, Sarah turns to her neighbor Raven DeVille, a swashbuckling pirate-like handsome man, for help, only to find he has secrets of his own. The duo investigates the murder with surprising twists that place Sarah in harms way more often than she ever thought possible.

Wow this story is as good as it sounds. I found the character of Sarah to be quite refreshing. Sarah is an artist that has moved down to a small town with her dog to start her life anew only to be caught up in yet another murder. I love that the story was set on a golf course, because that is where my husband and I met. I also loved that this character does not let others define her thoughts and actions. In too many books the characters are too perfect and people cannot identify with them, Sarah is a character I could definitely see myself being friends with.

I loved the book. It was an easy read and it kept me turning pages until I was done with it. If you are looking for a good murder mystery than look no further than this book.
