Create a Unique On-the-go Makeup Bag

With all the traveling we have been doing. Lately, I will admit that there are things that I tend to forget at home. And with the fact that I am more in front of the camera than before, I need to remember some of those things. So that is why I created this on the go makeup bag. But I knew I didn’t want the ordinary makeup bag. I wanted not only a bag that I can use on the go but also one that I can use in a clutch as a clutch. 🙂

So when I saw this hot pink makeup bag, I knew what I wanted to do. And guess what you can make one as well if you just follow these simple instructions.

Materials Needed for Makeup Bag on the Go

• Makeup bag
• burlap flower
• fabric
• velcro
• scissors
• a flower pattern
• pen
• scissors

Directions

• Print out your flower pattern or you can draw one.

• Trace the flower pattern onto the fabric. I used two different sizes.

• Cut out the flowers.

• Using Velcro attach the first fabric flower to the makeup bag.
• Repeat with the second flower.

• Add the burlap flower using the same method.

• Fill the bag with makeup essentials.

What’s in My Bag

Once I got this cute bag made, I had to decide what to put in it. Once I started putting items in the bag, I could stop myself. Here is what is in my bag.

• Lens cleaning cloth for my glasses
• A portable first aid kit
• Lipstick
• Eyeliners ( because a girl can’t have too many of those)
• a Manicure kit
• compact mirror
• extra blush
• sunglasses

• Poise Products – Poise Impressa and Poise Thin Shape pads. Don’t laugh; I carry these everywhere I go. I stash them in my car as well.

And when I saw them on the shelf at my local RiteAid, I knew they had to be included in my to go bag. I love that it helps control stress incontinence.  Not sure what that is, have a baby or in my case three and you will know. It is that moment when you laugh, sneeze or cough and a little trickle comes out. I also love that it can be used safely and can help to prevent leaks for up to 8 hours.

And the Poise Thin Shaped pads are must haves because they give me extra protection without the bulk of other pads. I also love that I can easily store them in not only my makeup bag but in all the cars. Plus it is a whole lot easier and more convenient to carry these then another set of clothes including underwear.  And having these doesn’t keep me from doing my everyday activities or laughing it up with girlfriends like I did last week (wine tasting, dinner at a new Italian Restaurant, and dessert at a Cupcake Bar, look for blog posts on our adventures soon).
