Yesterday I told you about my oldest big move to California. I still can’t believe she is over 2,000 miles away from us but I know she has a good head on her shoulder and she is going to do amazing things out there. Let me correct that and say they are going to do amazing things in California. Lex, her fiancee is like a son to me. He has been around for over 5 years now. I have watched him take on the challenges of being left in NC with no family because his dad is active duty Air Force and they moved to England shortly after Lex started college.
He has achieved so many things in the 4 short years at UNCG. Last year he was the only underclassman that was recognized in the Chemistry Department and this year he was given 4 awards by the department as well. He managed to graduate Summa Cum Laude while holding down a job in research through the Chemistry department. Did I mention that he paid all of his own bills?
You don’t see that many young men his age- working their way through school. He has an amazing head on his shoulder and knowing that he is out in California with Maddie, makes this momma feel better.
You might remember this picture that I posted with my blog post about my Jalapeno Yum Yum Burger, well soon after Lex graduated he turned 22. I wanted to give him something that reflected how much he meant to us. And also something to help decorate their new California home. After I saw how amazing the pictures I took with my iPhone on Lex’s Graduation day I knew that I wanted to turn the picture into a canvas print for his birthday and that is when I found Canvas on the Cheap.
The ordering process was so easy, basically, I just uploaded the picture and click the size I wanted. And when it came I was super surprised with how well it turned out. It was an amazing canvas and I so would use Canvas on the Cheap again. Not only was the quality amazing but the shipping was super quick.
And I can honestly say I thought twice about giving the print to Lex, I wanted to keep it for myself. But then I realized that they needed some photos to decorate their new home in California, so I parted with it.
Both Maddie and Lex loved the picture and it is now on the wall above their new apartment above their television.
