Blaze of Glory Review

I recently had the opportunity to read Blaze of Glory by M. Garzon. When I was given this opportunity the author warned me that there was some rough parts in the book. Yes there is a scene where Tea, the main character tries drugs for the first time but in this day and age it is a fact of life for most teenagers. They are facing more than we did when we were kids. She also stated that sex was involved in this book. Yes there is one scene in the book towards the end but it mild according to today’s standards. So I was a little apprenhensive when I agreed to read and review this book, but I have learned that things aren’t always what they seem and I was pleasantly surprised with this book.
The book is about Tea and all the choices that she makes in her life. She and her twin brother live on a ranch in Canada with their stepfather (who at times can be abusive toward them) because her mother had died years ago from cancer. In this book Tea realizes that there are consequences for her actions and she learns to overcome many obstacles in her life to find the right way for her.  As do the people she comes in contact with everyday.  I believe that there a character everyone can relate to in some way, shape, or form in this book.

This book is a young adult romance set in the horse world. Yes there is a scene where Tea takes drugs and has sex for the first time but they are not graphic in your face scenes. They are tastefully done and I believe it adds to the growth the character shows by the end of the book. All in all I was impressed with how tactful the author dealt with these subjects. The writing was amazing and the details about the world of training horses and polo was a learning experience for me.  If you are interested in buying this book you can purchase it at Blaze of Glory.

On a personal note I also like the fact that 2 of 3 favorite names were included in the book, Maddie and Gracie LOL. I also loved the fact several of the characters spoke Spanish.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
