Be Careful What Questions You Ask?
Uninvited Answers is a short story that is written by George MacDonald. In this short story, the main character Loretta is trying to sell a house. She has all these questions about why the house is not selling. In her mind this should have been a quick sell. But something is keeping the house from being sold. What is it she wonders?? Soon Loretta learns that maybe some questions are better left unanswered because the answer she receives to these questions haunts her until the day she dies.
This short story reminds me of a Stephen King novel. You know what I am talking about there is just enough uncertainty that you are not really sure what it is that haunts her but enough intrigue to lead the readers to let their imagination run wild. I have to say that this a great quick read for anyone. I actually read this while I was waiting in the car rider line to pick up Gracie from school. The plot is very believable and the character of Loretta sounds like many of the friends that I have. If you are looking for a quick but interesting read then by all means pick up this short story at Amazon.
