Allie’s Corner: Pet Halloween Costumes

Hey, Folks,

Allie's Corner: Pet Halloween Costumes by North Carolina lifestyle blogger Adventures of Frugal Mom

Allie here. I love when my human family includes me in their Halloween festivities by dressing me up in cute (or scary) pet Halloween costumes made just for me. There has been some weird stuff that they have put me in. But today I am going to give you some simple ideas for pet Halloween costumes. I mean, you can always go simple with a witch’s hat for kitty or some angel wings for that mischievous mutt, like me. Or, you can torture, I mean you can grab a full costume for your furbabies such as “Batman the Dark Knight Joker” featuring faux arms, shirt, pin-striped pants and a joker wig. But to be honest, I so would not be happy if my mommy put that kind of pet Halloween costumes.

A small dog, like me an adorable Shih Tzu will look cute in the Daisy Bee Dog Halloween costume. It’s yellow and black with a tutu, daisy flower and tiny wings and fits perfectly and comfortably around my tummy. But I will say that I hope my mommy doesn’t pick this out for me because although I will say that I would be cute as a bee, I don’t anything around my tummy.

If your kitty acts like a princess, she’ll be right at home in the regal Princess Cat Halloween costume. Made of sheer tulle fabric, the “ball gown” is ruffled and can be easily put on or taken off your kitty with the Velcro neck and waist fittings. You’ll want to take lots of photos of your princess kitty to share online and off. ( Sidenote here: I think this would totally be out of character for my kitty sisters, Markie, Tyger, and Jinxy as they are more hunters than princesses.)

The Wonder Woman Pet Costume is perfect for that “brave” doggie who would take on the world for her master. The costume comes with a cape and headpiece along with the jumpsuit, belt, and arms. I am thinking that my mommy is going to show this her friend Mrs. Robin for her dog. By the way, did you know that her son David- Allen calls me a meme.

Now, this is one costume I think I can get behind. I love The Wizard of Oz because there is no place like home. I love that dogs don’t just have to be Toto, Dorothy’s pooch in “The Wizard of Oz,” – I can be Dorothy, myself, in the Wizard of Oz Dorothy pet costume. Don’t you think I would look precious in a blue and white gingham dress as I hold a basket with faux arms? A pigtail hairpiece completes the look for Halloween — and lots of photo ops. I mean I have worn one of Beary’s wigs before.

Love the Flintstones cartoon? Now, there’s a Flintstones pet costume – Dino, the Dinosaur! This costume is cartoonish rather than scary. I so can see Tutu wearing this one. After all, she does remind me of Dino.  It fits like a sweater over your fur babies’ neck, front legs, and paws. The costume is pink with black polka dots and features a Dino head with a tuft of black “hair.”

Everyone loves Dr. Seuss books, especially the most famous one of all – “Cat in the Hat.” Your dog will be so cute in his Cat in the Hat Pet costume which includes a striped, Dr. Seuss hat and a jumpsuit that resembles a tuxedo with a red bow tie. And this would be cute for a kitty as well. And you can just put a hat on your kitty friends.

There are many fantastic Halloween pet costumes for your furbabies that can be found online and at discounted prices. For example. Alice in Wonderland, Strawberry Shortcake, The Evil Cat, Star Wars character, Yoda, sexy French Maid costumes – and so much more – are available for you to choose.

This Halloween, make your furbabies the star and dress them in your favorite character pet Halloween costume – or in one that suits their personality. You’ll create memories that your entire family will cherish forever. I know I will.

And let’s not forget the safety tips for your furbabies this year.

Until next time.
