3 Ways To Get Moving More Throughout The Day Without Paying To Go To A Gym from North Carolina Lifestyle Adventures of Frugal Mom

When you’re a parent, it can be hard to find time for “me time” during your day. For many parents, this means that things you used to love or find important, like hitting the gym every day, suddenly fall by the wayside.

Luckily, if you can’t find the time or the money to get yourself to the gym each day, there are plenty of other ways you can sneakily start to improve your health on a daily basis. To show you how this can be done, here are three ways to get moving more throughout the day without paying to go to the gym.

Plan To Walk Or Stand More

One of the easiest ways you can get your body moving and your blood flowing more during the day is to find ways that you can stand or walk more. If you spend a lot of your time working at a desk or sitting doing housework, consider getting a standing desk or completing your work at the counter or a higher table.

Joel Snape, a contributor to The Guardian, shares that it’s usually easy to find ways to add a bit more walking into your days as well. When running errands, park further away from the store. If stairs are an option, always take them rather than waiting for the elevator. And if you’re talking on the phone or need to meet with someone, consider walking while you do this as well.

Burn Calories While Cleaning

When you’re at home and have a million things to take care of for your family, the last thing you might want to do is worry about how to get a workout in. Thankfully, a lot of the work you do within your home can help you burn plenty of calories if you do them right.

According to Sheena Chihak, a contributor to Better Homes and Gardens shares that household chores and tasks like sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, washing windows, mowing the lawn, and more can all raise your heart rate, get you sweating, and count as a form of exercise. Especially if you do multiple tasks one right after the other, you’ll have a clean home and have burned quite a few calories.

Stretch While Resting

In those rare moments when you do get to take a rest from caring for your family, doing work for your job, or maintaining your home, you can still be helping your body stay lean and nimble in easy ways.

According to Everyday Health, finding a few spare moments to stretch can help you feel better, refresh your joints and muscles, get your blood flowing, and improve your range of motion and flexibility. This can be done when getting ready for bed, right after you wake up, to shake off mid-afternoon tiredness, or while you’re unwinding in the evening.

If you want to find some ways to move more throughout the day, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you do just that.
