What Furniture and Equipment Can You Expect in a Toronto Short-Term Rental?
When choosing furnished apartments to rent in Toronto, you’ll need to consider the amenities, safety measures, and atmosphere of each one. Every property has something unique to offer.
The furniture and appliances that you’ll have in each rental property will also vary depending on the owner’s preferences. However, there are some common items that you’ll find in most furnished rentals in the Toronto area.
Let’s take a look at what furniture, equipment, and appliances you can expect when you book a Toronto rental property for an extended stay. We’ve split the list into rooms.
Bedroom Furniture
As with short-term rentals in any area, those you’ll find in Toronto typically contain a bed (usually a Queen or King-sized bed) with a mattress and clean bedding.
Your bedding may be changed every day or on alternate days by the cleaning staff at the rental. In some places, you’ll be expected to wash your bedding in the laundry room of the rental building, but this is less common.
You’ll also find a bedside cabinet or two, on top of which will be lamps. You’ll have clothes storage units, such as a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Some rental properties have built-in wardrobes, while others have free-standing storage units, with or without mirrors.
Kitchen and Dining Equipment
Kitchen facilities in short-term rentals often include basic appliances, such as a fridge, freeze, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, and kettle. Some kitchens may include a dishwasher and coffee machine.
Most of the time, the rental property owner will also supply dinnerware, including plates, bowls, utensils, cutlery, glasses, and mugs. You may have a kitchen-dining area, where you also have a dining table and chairs in your kitchen to sit comfortably and eat your meals.
Living Room Furniture
In your rental property’s living room, you’ll most likely find a double sofa, coffee table, a side table, and lamps. You may also have a television on top of a TV stand and additional chairs if you’ve booked a family room, with modern or contemporary architrave framing the doors.
In some but not all rentals, you’ll have access to cable television and streaming services that you can connect to via a free Wi-Fi network.
Bathroom Amenities
In your bathroom, you can expect to find the basics, including a toilet, sink, and bath or shower cubicle.
You might be supplied with toiletries, such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, and a hairdryer. You’ll receive fresh towels when you first move into the rental property and may get fresh towels every day, every other day, or at your request.
Heating and Air ConditioningMost rental properties in Toronto come equipped with a heating and air conditioning system that you can adjust manually using a thermometer. This enables you to stay comfortable at any time of the year, regardless of the weather conditions, which can vary greatly in Toronto depending on the time of year.
