Game day is the best day, no matter what the game is. It brings together family and friends to root for their favorite team or talk trash to their biggest rival. Watch parties tend to occur more during football season. Let’s face it, whether or not you’re a fan, football lends itself to gatherings. Every Saturday and Sunday this time of year, there is football on TV—it never misses, so it’s easy to plan something. A day planned around a game has something for everyone. Those that want to watch the game can and those that don’t have can converse with each other, have a drink, and nibble on great snacks. The day is about being together, having a good time, and eating some great snacks on game day.

Philly Cheesesteak Dip

Figure out a way to transform all your favorite foods into dips, and you’ll never have a shortage of guests at your parties. Add some milk to cheese sauce, throw in some sautéed onions and pepper and tiny bits of roast beef, and serve it in an Italian bread loaf. Use the extra bread or chips to dip.

Buffalo Chicken Tenders

Buffalo-flavored anything just screams game day. If you want to avoid the mess and expense of whole chicken wings, go with tenders. Use your favorite brand of frozen tenders and cook them as instructed. Once done, toss them with hot sauce and serve with blue cheese dressing and celery.

Queso Dip

Bring a little southwest flavor to your party. Making a real queso dip is easy. Start by making a roux with flour, water, and a bit of oil. Shred some real cheese into the pan and keep stirring. Add milk until you get the consistency you want, then add some chives and sautéed jalapenos for some zip.

Jalapeno Pigs in a Blanket

These tasty finger foods are good for all the kids—even the kids at heart. Wrap hot dogs in pre-made, seasoned pizza dough and top them with crispy jalapenos. Serve them with the queso dip or a beer cheese dip.

Pull-Apart Meatball Sandwiches

Don’t make a ton of meatball subs—make two pans of party-sized sliders. Use Hawaiian dinner rolls, add meatballs, mozzarella, and some marinara sauce. Brush melted garlic butter on the top of the rolls for some extra Italian flavor. Slide it in the oven, take it out when they’re cooked through, and you’re ready to go.

There you have it some great snacks for game day.
