Soul On Fire Book Review and Win It Too!!
Soul On Fire by Skyy Banks is an amazing story of one woman’s struggle to overcome unknown obstacles in her life. The main character, Dana, feels a void in her life and thinks that sex will fill that void. She realizes that it is a short term fix for unanswered and unacknowledged problems. Dana is plagued by nightmares of a little girl being abused by three masked men. It is after she wakes up from these dreams that she realizes she needs a booty call to erase the memory of the dram. With the help of her therapist she soon comes to term with her dreams and her life.
This story is not for the faint of heart. The subject matter itself is a hard subject to deal with- the sexual abuse of a child is not laughing matter. But Banks has managed to make something negative and by facing the problem head on Dana is able to heal and her life takes a more positive turn. There were several scenes in the book that are not for the faint of heart. This book shows how you can overcome what has been done to you and find closure so that you can get on with living your own life. I found this book a very interesting read. It is like I have said before, this blog has forced me to think outside of the box to experience and read new and interesting ideas and concepts.
