This island is just stunning and is the ideal destination if you’re a lover of nature or you simply want to stay somewhere quiet and beautiful. Home to Mount Alvernia, a monastery, and some ruins, Cat Island also has some wonderful beaches just waiting to be explored.

Andros Island

Andros Island is the largest island in the whole of the Bahamas, but not many people live there. This means you should expect to see many trails just waiting for you to explore them. Andros Island is also home to a barrier reef and wonderful places to dive. If you’re a fan of sport fishing, you will love Andros Island, as it is known as the “Bonefish Capital.” A little off the beaten track and without any fancy hotels, this particular island is quite a gem of a find.

Grand Bahama Island

If you want to visit an island that is home to nightclubs, shops, casinos, and restaurants, this is the place to be. But this is not all that Grand Bahama Island offers. There is a more natural side to it. Why not visit one of the three national parks on foot or even on horseback?

Eleuthera

Eleuthera is an island and the name of a chain of islands located to the east of New Providence. The island itself is well-known for its beautiful pink sands, which just have to be seen to be believed. Home to coves and pineapple fields and known as the “Birthplace of the Bahamas,” Eleuthera is a very pleasant place to stay. British settlers called the island their home and inspired some of the local architecture before passing it on to the other islands in the Bahamas. Home to a ferry service that runs to and from Nassau, there are 3 airports that make it easy to land and set off from the island.

The Bahamas is an incredible place to stay, full of beautiful islands and cays that are truly spectacular. Not all islands are the same, and you may, therefore, want to think about what you’re looking for from your holiday. If you want to stay busy, you may want to stay on New Providence or Grand Bahama Island. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a little peace and quiet, then Andros Island or Cat Island could be the ideal places for you. Regardless of where you choose to stay, you can be sure that you’ll be surrounded by natural beauty, great food, and friendly people.
