Midweek Moment: Cause It’s a Thriller…………………..

I am proud to say that this will be a weekly post by my wonderful and beautiful friend, Beverly. She is part of a marriage ministry that will rock your socks off. Not only is she talented, but she is the probably the most genuine person I have ever met. She has agreed to write a post for me every week for the sole purpose of encouragement. I love her writing and I am just glad she is going to be a regular on this blog. Check out the end of the article to find out more about her and her wonderful site, Intentionally Yours.

Well I have never!! What you are about to read is a true story; (well somewhat true) the names have NOT been changed to protect the innocent!

Have Mercy! I had no idea preacher’s wives, Sunday school teachers and a former deacon could move the way I saw those ladies move in my Zumba class! Where oh where did they pick up all those “WORDLY” moves. Good thing I had my camera to record it all! (The camera is the part of the story that is not actually true,I just love to pick on a few of them.) I am known to be an instigator!

Honey Child about the time she made us go around swinging our hands in the air like a lasso, my hip popped out of joint & it took 3 women & the head of the prayer team to kick it back into socket!! And my pants, my pants, how do I keep splitting my pants! When she played the song thriller, I heard half of the class screaming….I know, I know they were being thrilled by my MOVES!! I can’t help it if I am blessed! (More untruth) I am only kidding. Of course I can’t understand why my friends Emily, Phyllis & Tammy were staring at me shouting “Kill her” instead of thriller! Hmmmmm….

Then there is my friend Melissa V., I am just waiting with great anticipation for her to show up in her leopard skin leotards and zebra striped sports bra. I can’t wait to report back on that one. Let me just hush. I am getting myself in trouble. I’ll just go wash my mouth out with chocolate!!

Just being candid, getting back into the routine of exercise has not been exactly easy. There have been times that I walked into that gym & I felt rather awkward. I had forgotten how to use the weights & the machines. The work-out routines were just a memory. Now I am starting to feel encouraged. I can do this!

This can also be true with how I exercise my spiritual daily walk with Christ. Every day I have to stop & think about my relationship with Jesus. I am still learning, and growing. I realize that the choices I make need to draw me closer to God & not push him away or distance me from him. I do not want to miss a week or even a day without that personal time with Jesus that allows me to exercise my faith in him. I need that regular meditation, prayer time ,and crying out to God to keep me on tract. If you have seen my hips lately you will agree that l need that physical exercise, but it is imperative that I make the time to practice keeping my spirit in tune with God & my heart ready to serve him. My friend do you need to work on your daily routine with Christ?

I hear my husband calling my name!!! He is loving my energy… You think it will work if I say “not tonight Honey I got a sore muscle?” Just kidding I am fixing to put a few Zumba moves on that man of mine & I just might break bad with a little SANGING MY SELF!!! Cause I’m a thriller, thriller yeah:) I AINT believing I just said that! I must have hit my head when I hit the floor at Zumba!! .
