women in business series from North Carolina Lifestyle Blogger Adventures of Frugal Mom

Today I am excited to share with you another member of the mastermind I created this year. Kelly has such amazing energy that you can’t help but be inspired by her. I hope you enjoy getting to know her as much as I have. Little reminder if you missed any of the women being profiled in the series, I have created a page that has all the links to the post, just click to check it out. Also please check out their businesses, a lot of them are small business owners that either in need of your support or are offering something like Kelly is with her Morning Mindfulness Challenge.

Tell me about your business.

Hey, I am Kelly Cain. I am a health + life coach for entrepreneur moms. I help moms learn how to make taking care of themselves a priority from the lens of health. This includes how to show up present, how to engage in their children’s lives, and how to live a more full (less overwhelmed) life. You can check out my website KellyCain for more information.

What struggles have you faced in your business?

As a multi-passionate entrepreneur I felt pulled in so many directions and it felt overwhelming and near-impossible at times to choose just one thing. Trying so many things to figure out what will work and what doesn’t. Figuring out the daily disciplines I need to have in order to build a business.

How have you overcome those struggles?

Learning from others and figuring out my unique gifts has been such an amazing experience. I truly believe everyone has a unique gift to bring into this world.

Who were your mentors growing up?

Growing up I was mentored by several women in my church as well as in a few different ministries I was involved in.

If you were to give advice to a woman going into the field you are in what would it be?

Hone and craft your unique story and how it impacts your mission.

Have you found that being a woman in your field is harder or easier? Tell me about the advantages and disadvantages of being a woman.

As a coach for moms, I think moms are more likely to listen and respect other moms who have been in the trenches and know what works and what doesn’t, in this case, I believe being a woman is an advantage!

Have you ever have to overcome a hostile work environment?

I have definitely worked in situations that have not been ideal. During that time I didn’t really have boundaries or understand emotional intelligence to the degree I do now. I believe if I were in that situation again I would be able to recognize it pretty quickly.

What made you decide on your chosen field?

I chose this field because of my personal health journey. I believe our greatest pain can be our greatest gift if we let it.

Anything else you would care to share.

Spending years in the health and wellness industry Kelly Cain is well versed in the pressures, triggers and cultural implications for women when it comes to health. After a decade of pressuring herself to lose pounds, Kelly found a better direction, focusing on nutrition, empowering herself to live boldly as she was created, and helping other women to see themselves as powerful, strong beings no matter what they weigh. Kelly Cain is a certified health coach through Dr. Sears Wellness Institute and she is in the process of getting her life coaching certification.
