My Love Hate Relationship with My Closet

ove hate relationship with closet

Living in the south, being in style is key. I honestly try my best to wear current trends but sometimes when I look at my closet I realize that I fail miserably. Why? Because my closet is full trends that have gone out of style or let’s face it clothes I will never ever wear again.

If you are like me, I am sure that your closet is full of clothes for many of the same reasons as mine are.

  • Sentimental reasons- I still have some dresses that were my sister’s. She died over 22 years ago and I can’t bear to part with them. But yet I can’t wear them either. And then there is a whole section, that is full of old shirts that were my dads. I wear these often. They are great with leggings during the winter. In fact, I grabbed 4 of his shirts for my girls and I to wear this weekend when we were getting our hair and makeup done for Gracie’s quince años.

  • Then there are clothes that I can’t wear anymore because I have put on a few pounds. But I hope someday that I will be able to wear them again. So they are in one section as well.
  • And then there are those that in my size or a little bigger. These are my everyday clothes that I try to rotate out so I don’t wear the same things all the time.

This fashion survey really opened my eyes when it comes to my closet.  I know I have way too many clothes. And I also know that if I don’t feel good when I am wearing a piece of clothing I should just get rid of it. That way it doesn’t take up precious space in my closet. And after all, somebody else might be able to get some use out of it.
