Hi! As most of you know my blog has been around for a while but just within the last year it has really started taking off. I believe because I put myself out there and made myself mingle with other bloggers. Not only have I made some great friends but I have also learned a lot. One of those bloggers who never cease to amaze me with her intelligence and her thirst for knowledge is Sarah at The Hot Mess Kitchen. She is the one blogger I go to with any of my frustrations. So I was very honored that Sarah has nominated me for a Liebster Award.
What is this award exactly? It is an award that we in the blogging community use to help blogs get some exposure and also a way to get a blog post when we have writer’s block 🙂 Guilty as charged.
The hardest part about this award is that we have to nominate 5 blogs in the next round. Finding blogs to nominate wasn’t the hard part narrowing them down to just 5 was. So here are my 5:
- Life With Lorelai
- Everything and Nothing From Essex
- Queen Jarrell
- Still Being Molly
- Everyday Fashion by Lee
Along with this award came 11 questions that I have to answer for myself as well as coming up with questions for the blogs I nominated.
Why did I choose these five blogs? Because each one of these have shown me things whether it be in life lessons shared in blog posts, fashion tips, or just by being the amazing people that they are. So here it goes, my reasons for choosing these fab five.
Lorelai from Life With Lorelai is my cohost partner in crime for the Home Matters Linky Party. She is so creative and I just wished that we lived closer as I know we would have great fun together. She is always so patient and answers all my coding and graphics questions. She is always the first person I message when I need a creative boost. I think I would call her my blogging soul mate.
Deanna from Everything and Nothing From Essex is the blogger I most admire. I enjoy reading her blog posts about her family and her instagram is absolutely hilarious. I often comment on her blog and when I get a reply I am jumping for joy. She is also one my favorite authors as her book, Motherhood Unexpected is the bomb. She has also changed my way of thinking when it comes to words I use and the way I look at things.
Kathi from Queen Jarrell is such a talented blogger and an even more amazing friend. She is someone who I have known for years as she taught all three of my girls art in elementary school. Not only does she have an artistic eye, she also shares some yummy healthy recipes. She also shares on her blog the fabulous trips she takes with her husband.
Molly from Still Being Molly I met back in April at the TRIFABB Southern Women’s Show meet up. She is just a bundle of energy and so sweet. Her blog is totally to die for beautiful and I am absolutely in love with her about me page. Don’t tell her but I am going to steal her idea soon. Because imitation is the highest form of flattery.
Lee from Everyday Fashion by Lee is just a fun gal to be around. I got exhausted just listening to her schedule.I also met her at the TRIFABB meetup but I really got to know her better over a few drinks at the preview dinner for Mesa Latin Kitchen back in July. I love her style. I mean she wears sweat pants to work and makes them look fashionable.
Ok now for the questions here are the answers to the questions Sarah asked me.
#1 – Name a time when you danced and got caught when you thought no one was looking. What happened next? When my girls were little and I used to take them to school when a song came on the radio I loved to make them car dance with me. Now that they are older 20, 17, and 13 they are totally embarrassed if mom busts a move.
#2 – Why did you name your blog what you did? I know the reasons why, but others may not. I named my blog Adventures of Frugal Mom because I think of our life as an adventure. Sometimes a good one and sometimes I have a year like last year that I just want to forget.
#3 – If there were one opportunity that you were given in your lifetime that would just knock your socks off, what would it be and why? That would be a tough one but I will have to say being given an all expense paid vacation would definitely be one of them, especially if it was to Disney, our family has never been.
#4 – Why did you start blogging? I have a friend, Brittany who blogs at The Frugal Free Gal, and she suggested I start to write a blog of my own and encouraged me to start.
#5 – Favorite season of the year and why. I love all seasons but only in short spans. LOL
#6 – If your blog had a hairstyle, what would it look like? A trendy bob cut with a splash of purple. Oh wait that is my hairstyle- but as my blog is a reflection of me that is perfect.
#7 – Imagine you can see in to the future. What do you see? I can’t look toward the future too much. If there is one thing I learned from last year that in planning for the future we tend to overlook the present. I like living in the here and now.
#8 – What was the last movie you watched, whether it had been on TV or at a movie theater? Furious 7- I loved the way that they paid tribute to Paul Walker at the end.
#9 – What is your response to the “Pumpkin Spice” phenomenon that happens every fall? It is okay but I rather have my White Chocolate Mocha any day.
#10 – Do you share your blog with anyone, or work at it alone? I mainly work on it alone. But I do have contributors from time to time.
#11 – Tell us about yourself without using the word “the” in any of your sentences. I got this from an English teacher who encouraged us to use a thesaurus. I am a mom of 3 beautiful girls and 5 furbabies. I have a soft spot for animals unless they are the annoying dog who has been barking since I started writing this post and who is still barking. I love to volunteer, read, and do crafts. I am a fiercely loyal friend but if you cross me watch out.
So those are my 11 questions answered now here are the questions for the 5 bloggers I nominated.
- Why do you blog?
- What is the most interesting that has happened today?
- What is your guilty pleasure?
- What is the last photo on your phone? I dare you to post it.
- If you could be one television character past or present who would you be?
- Would you rather go back in time or forward to the future?
- What was the last book you read?
- Name one thing that people don’t know about you.
- Are you a cat or dog person?
- Team Android or Team Iphone
- Who do you consider your blogging best friend?
