Household Hacks Using Coconut Oil

Household Hacks Using Coconut Oil

Great news keeping a house clean does not require the use of any toxic chemicals. Simple, inexpensive ingredients, such as baking soda, vinegar, lemon, and salt get the job done once you start you will never go back to using chemical cleaners again. I have found another way to clean and that is coconut oil. So here are some household hacks using coconut oil.

Stain Remover

Coconut oil can remove stubborn stains and spots from carpets and other hard materials. Rub a small amount of coconut oil on the spot and allow it to sit for 5 minutes. The oil will loosen the stain.

Squeaky Doors:

You can fix squeaky doors naturally. Apply coconut oil to the hinge of the door and allow it to sit for 2-3 hours. Then check whether the sound is gone by opening and closing the door. If there is still sound use more oil and after a few times the squeak will go completely to work like a charm.

Label Remover

This is one of my favorite ways to use it. Removing labels can be a messy task and the labels also leave sticky residue behind which make the work even worse. You can remove the labels easily using coconut oil. Mix equal parts coconut oil and baking soda into a paste, simply cover the label and allow it to soak for 1-2 minutes. Scrub off using an old toothbrush or scrubber. The label will come out easily now without leaving any residue behind. Wipe off the oil using a wet cloth.

Season Iron Skillet

Cast iron cookware must be prepped before use to help prevent sticking. Season your cookware with it to maintain the integrity of the pan and to make cleanup a breeze.

Furniture Polish

To make wood furniture really shine, combine 1/4 cup melted coconut oil, 4 tablespoons distilled white vinegar, and 2 teaspoons lemon juice in a reusable spray bottle and shake well. To use, spray on wood furniture and wipe away with a clean cloth.

So tell me did you have any ways to use coconut oil?
